Hugh Jackman Treated For Skin Cancer

Hugh Jackman was recently treated for skin cancer.


Jackman, 45, announced the news on Thursday, sharing an Instagram shot of his bandaged nose and explaining to fans what had occurred after his wife Deborra-Lee Furness urged him to visit a doctor.

Jackman wrote: "Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a (basal) cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!"

Basal cell carcinomas usually caused by intense UV exposure, are rarely life-threatening, but can be disfiguring and damaging to tissue if left untreated.
